Vehicle Protection Plan FAQ

VEHICLE PROTECTION PLANS

What’s a Vehicle Service Contract?

Most new vehicles come with a manufacturer’s warranty. This agreement between the manufacturer and the customer promises that they will repair or replace the component at no cost to the customer if it breaks or malfunctions within a certain time period. These periods vary, typically around 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. This warranty offers the customer the comfort of knowing that they will not be saddled with expensive repair costs. Vehicle service agreements, also known as vehicle service contract plans, are designed to give additional coverage once this warranty has expired. This allows the customer to continue to predict costs associated with repairing their vehicle.

Does Titan Auto Protect offer additional extras on top of the repairs?

Yes, we want to provide you with the best experience possible. As a result we offer additional automotive assistance for towing, roadside assistance for lockout, loss of fuel, battery jump-starts, and trip interruption at no additional charge. We even provide a rental car so you can always get where you are going as quickly and as easily as possible. Our goal is to make the costs of repairing your vehicle as easy and predictable as we can. This means going the extra mile to get you where you need to go.

Why do I need an vehicle service contract?

Your vehicle is an important investment and Titan Auto Protect can help you make that investment go further. Our goal is to keep your vehicle fit and road-worthy so that you can get the most out of your investment. When you consider how expensive parts and components can be to fix, having a vehicle service contract is clearly an important consideration.

Is there an advantage to buying a contract while I still have a manufacturer warranty?

Just like health insurance, the better condition your vehicle is in the better your rates and pricing. It actually costs much less to supplement the warranty on a newer vehicle than it does for an older vehicle, particularly if it has fallen into disrepair. By buying now, you lock in the cost, while your rates are lower.

What happens if I sell the vehicle?

If you sell your vehicle, most policies are transferable to the new owner. The specific details on how to transfer the coverage are written in the contract.

What if I want to cancel my vehicle service contract?

Although we’re certain you’ll love your Titan Auto Protect vehicle protection plan, we are more than happy to offer a money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied. Most plans can be canceled within either 30 or 60 days for a full refund. After that time period, a pro-rated refund will be issued for the unused portion of your contract.

What else should I look for in a plan?

When choosing a plan, you need a company that has the financial stability to be there when you need your claim to be paid. Titan Auto Protect works with an administrator that has paid over $400 million in claims. Also, don’t let price be your deciding factor when shopping a plan. Look at what you actually get for the money and factor in additional costs that are likely to come with a “less expensive” plan.

What is covered under my plan?

Our coverage can vary by plan, state, and other factors. To make it clear what is covered, we send out a booklet in the mail that tells you exactly what is covered under your contract. Every plan has a section called Terms & Conditions that explicitly details the contract’s covered components. Our adjustor’s render their claim decisions based on these Terms & Conditions. If you have any questions about your policy or anything else relating to your policy, please call us and a customer service agent will be happy to assist you.

FINANCING

Do you offer financing?

Yes, we have financing in place to assist in the lending of money for your vehicle service contract purchase. We even offer financing for up to 24 months at no additional charge to make sure that you have protection in place when you need it. For more information contact our customer service agent.

REPAIRS AND CLAIMS

Who takes care of the repairs?

Our customers can take their vehicle to any licensed repair facility for repairs. We use nationally recognized names like Aamco and Pep Boys, as well as smaller independent repair facilities, to give you expansive coverage. Our partners are chosen for their ability to provide fast, reasonably priced, and reliable repair work whenever you need them. If you need help finding a licensed repair facility in your area, please call us and a customer service agent will be happy to assist you. With Titan Auto Protect you can leave the worrying to us.

How are the repairs paid?

We pay the repair facility with our corporate credit card as soon as we receive a copy of the finished repair order. We have found that repair facilities prefer payment by credit card because they receive payment immediately instead of waiting for a reimbursement check to arrive by mail.

Why is an inspector sometimes sent prior to rendering a claim decision?

On some claims inspections are requested to accurately determine that the failed components are included in the contract coverage. The inspectors sent are not employed by us, but rather a third-party company with access to independent inspectors nationwide. In the event an inspection is requested, the inspector typically arrives within 24 to 48 hours to perform the inspection.

What if I sustain vehicle damage as a result of an accident?

Our contracts are for the breakdown of parts only and will not cover any breakdowns relating to an automobile accident. Please contact your insurance company if you are involved in automobile accident.

Where can I locate my contract/agreement number?

Our representatives access your account by using the contract/agreement number. The contract/agreement number is located on the declaration page of your contract in the top right hand corner. You will also find the contract/agreement number on the card that was received with the contract. If you can’t find your contract/agreement number, we can look up your coverage using last name or VIN.

How do deductibles work?

Upon the authorization for repairs, the deductible amount is subtracted from the approved claim’s amount. Upon completion of the repairs, payment will be made to the shop with a corporate credit card. Upon picking up your vehicle, you would pay your deductible directly to the repair facility
